Thank you for playing!

Please let me know if there's anything you'd like added or changed!

Very interesting game.

(*^▽^*)

How long do you expect to develop this game?

I'm already thinking about buying a copy.

Hello liluwing!

Thank you for your interest.

How long do you expect to develop this game?

Good question, I tend to refrain from looking for a finish-line, as I just want to keep adding incremental improvements over time.

However, I'll start planning out what I a 1.0 release would look like.

I could also consider an Early Access release, but I'm not sure if that's the road I want to go down.

I'm already thinking about buying a copy.

I appreciate your support, at this point, feedback is arguably the most valuable factor for the future of the project.

So if there are any game modes, features, etc. that you'd like changed or added, please let me know.

(+1)

Thank you for your reply.

(*^▽^*)

Very much looking forward to the release of version 1.0.

If possible, I would like to communicate with you via email.

If you have Discord, I'd prefer to start there: 1_step_closer

If not, let me know.

Something is wrong with the fire challenge monster. The skill says that it heals 10 a turn, but it was healing 30+ a turn making it impossible to beat.

Thanks for letting me know Sam, I'll investigate.

(+1)

After investigating, I can see the issue, health regen per turn is triggering, in this case, up to 3 times, when activated. I'll try to find the solution and send an update out. Thanks!

Hey sam, thanks again for the bug report, it should be fixed in the most recent update (0.0.0.84.7).

Hi sam, i’m sorry to disturb you here, this is Lino from Coin factory, i did read your message.

there is a problem with the Itch io app that makes the game fail.

the game is a browser game and it can be played without problems from the phone or from just chrome/safari/firefox!

i hope you can get some time to try it, regardless of the rating.

Take care !

(+1)

Hi lino, looks like you might have posted this to the wrong section, just letting you know.

(+1)

hi! oh thanks for the note, itch io doesn’t have a 1:1 chat right ?  i’m so confused.

your game is awesome!

Hmm (Thinking face), I'm not aware of 1:1 chat on itch.

And Thanks ^^.

(+1)

Coin Factory is fun, too.

That and this are the two games I've played most on itch in the last month.

I guess Discord would be the place to go for a more private chat. It's not like itch needs to turn into a chat app.

Better to stick with games, jams, devs and apps and leave the social media stuff to the junkies who inject it.

(+1)

Wow! This game is absolutely awesome. I've had to stop just when I unlocked expeditions as I have real life stuff to do, and if I don't stop myself now I'll still be playing while I get fired and divorced.

Great narration voice, very simple battle mechanics to begin but with seemingly limitless and ever-growing ways to upgrade and change the gameplay.

Very impressive.

(+1)

Thank you so much docnutnut!

If there are any features/gameplay modes, etc. you'd like to added, just let me know.

Once I have all the bits opened up I'll know what (if anything) you're missing.

Saying that, there's probably no cowbell. There rarely is.

(1 edit) (+1)

I haven't played as much as I'd like to, but two things spring to mind that would be nice.

Firstly, it would be nice if the the countdown timer on the expeditions had minutes for when it goes under an hour. Right now I can't decide if I should go to bed rather than wait for somewhere between 1 and 60 minutes.

Secondly, the question mark is supposed to give help on anything you don't understand. But all it does is bring up a menu of four items that I do understand. I would like to see the tutorial of the Auras building as I forgot what it said about it the first time, but there doesn't seem to be any way to do this.

And while I'm here, is there a cheat sheet for the trivia? I was thinking of making one myself rather than trying to remember every single character.

And I remember another thing I wanted to ask. Is the final name for this game 'TBD' or is the name still TBD?

Awesome feedback docnutnut!

Firstly, it would be nice if the countdown timer on the expeditions had minutes for when it goes under an hour. Right now I can't decide if I should go to bed rather than wait for somewhere between 1 and 60 minutes.

So this was already in, but I did double check, and there might have been an issue which would have shown the incorrect amount of time remaining, this should be fixed in the next update:

Secondly, the question mark is supposed to give help on anything you don't understand. But all it does is bring up a menu of four items that I do understand. I would like to see the tutorial of the Auras building as I forgot what it said about it the first time, but there doesn't seem to be any way to do this.

Good point, I've added descriptions to each of the categorical aura icons as a reminder:

Is this sufficient?

And while I'm here, is there a cheat sheet for the trivia? I was thinking of making one myself rather than trying to remember every single character.

Trivia is setup such that only character's you've unlocked are in the match character description trivia challenge. The idea is that over time you get accustomed to these character's that have descriptions. I do have a cheat sheet but it's not codified by the visuals of the character nor the character name you see when you hover over the characters, so it wouldn't be helpful in this case.  However, there's no drawback to getting the trivia wrong, so I wouldn't sweat it.

PS. the next update does include riddles into the trivia challenge, which is less memorization, although I'm unsure if it's too easy.

And I remember another thing I wanted to ask. Is the final name for this game 'TBD' or is the name still TBD?

I get asked this quite a bit, I haven't decided on a name yet. My main hold back now is that "Soul" doesn't quite roll off the tongue (in my opinion).

(+1)

Very nice layout to your reply, I feel wholly inadequate just replying with the same text from beginning to end.

I remembered something about having multiple souls of an element in your party, so I recently had all four being fire elements but it didn't seem to do anything which was why I asked. Does it have to be three, or three or more?

I had assumed that the name was undecided and I was trying to think of a name. I came up with Soulmancer Elite, which would allow for other games in the future should you decide to make sequels, spinoffs or whatever within the Soulmancer universe: Soulmancer Puzzle, Merge, Incremental Clicker, Fap VN, Soulmancer The Movie 1-8 (starring Dwayne Johnson, Charlize Theron and God) etc.

I get about 80% of the trivia right, I just want it to be 100%, but I guess I should remember rather than cheat. I shall study harder.

No worries, all that really matters is that we understand each other.

This is a good point, and I decided to be more specific with the description to reduce confusion:

3 or 4 should work to activate the aura, here is an example:

3 Fire

4 Fire

I see, thank you for the recommendations!

Not sure if spin-offs will be in the future, as I don't want to look too far ahead, but that's something to keep in mind.

Ideally, I just want to keep updating this project, but the future is unknown, time will tell.

Love this game. Very fun.

Mobile version when?

Thank you for playing Kamouri!

For now, the focus is desktop, if that goes well, I'll start considering a mobile version.

(+1)

Very fun concept with more systems in place than I honestly anticipated at this stage of development. Keep up the good work!

(+1)

Wow, thanks so much Strickove!

I appreciate your comment.

I have one question though, I am currently in outerworld lv130 zone but the enemies are still levels 1-3 excluding the occasional lv9 elite monster. Is the outerworlds supposed to not scale up? This  is version 0.0.0.83.6

(1 edit)

Ahh just now seeing this, thanks for the notice, just to clarify,

You are in world level 130?

If so, then yes there are some issues with the level scaling, I'll look into this.

There was indeed an issue with level scaling, which should be fixed now (0.0.0.83.9).

Thank you for bringing it to my attention, Strickove.

Still enjoying my time spent playing this game, keep up the good work!

I'm grateful to hear that Strickove!

If there are any new gameplay modes, mechanics or features you'd like to see, please let me know.

Doesn't run with Proton. Unfortunate. (It opens a black window which shortly closes.)

(1 edit)

Hello Abstruse,

I'm not familiar with Proton, but it seems to be a wrapper for running Windows programs on Linux?

I could export Linux and Mac builds, but the demand is generally so low that the cost of continually updating them is difficult to reason with.

(4 edits)

It's indeed such a wrapper, and most games run with it. Therefore, it's unfortunate that I find TBD does not.

I've heard of Mac being a nightmare to compile for (due to the walled garden), but isn't a Linux binary simple?

(1 edit)

Hey Abstruse,

Thank you for the clarification.

I'll provide an export (For Linux) for you once I get this next update out (should be soon).

This is a good opportunity to test Linux (If you're up for it).

(2 edits)

I'm down for testing, and perhaps more if I like the game. Any better means of contact (such as Revolt or Discord)?

(2 edits)

I'd greatly appreciate that. (Added you)

Ok, I might be dumb or something, but when I tried to play the game myself, I don't seem to be able to do anything past the character creation. After I made the character, I'm in some world, see a carrot been thrown, some bunny thing ran off to it, I automatically follow, then I'm stuck. I tried pressing all the keys, click all the things, nothing seem to indicate I'm doing anything. It'll help if I actually have an idea of what's going on and what to do after character creation. Again, it could just me being dumb

(1 edit) (+1)

Hello codmizer, is it possible for you to post a screenshot of how it looks for you?

In the meantime, I'll test a new game and see if it get's stuck.

Update: Nevermind, just tested and you're right, I'll work to find the solution here soon.

Thanks a bunch! 🤝

(+1)

No problem! Someone gotta let ya know when something made the beginning of the game break. I'm guessing I need to do something with the carrot, as besides the menu stuff that works, clicking on the rabbit shows the display. I think the carrot's broke, but I'll leave ya to it to find the cause

(+1)

Hey codmizer👋,

I've updated the game to version 0.0.0.81.4.

Please let me know if the issue is addressed.

(+1)

Sorry for late reply, but got to test it out and it works! Thanks Step!

Hey,
I played this for an hour or so, and i quite enjoyed it.
However, i feel like either the game is bugged or the balancing is off
In the beginning i was told that after losing, my portal progress would be reset partially. That doesn't happen, so im stuck on level 16 with most my party getting 1 or 2 shot. ( They are lvl 0-1, most enemies are 2-5)Also, possibly related, i haven't unlocked anything after the portal guy, and the "winning screen" results after death are adding all the results up (But only give me what i earned since the last death)

Hello Hasrem! 👋

Thank you so much for this information.

It sounds like the defeat outcomes aren't occurring.

I'll get right on fixing that, and I'll push out an update when I do.

Hello again, Hasrem!👋

I've updated the game to version 0.0.0.81.1.

As you mentioned, there was no true defeat outcomes occuring.

Hopefully the problems are resolved now.

Thank you for bringing the problem to my atttention.

If there are ever any more problems, I'd be grateful to hear of them.

Thanks. 🤝

(+1)

The fix worked. and progress resumed. Thanks!

SUPER FUN GAME! But I have a recurring bug that keeps happening. For some reason the screen will zoom a bit ahead, the souls catch up, and then they infinitely run foward with no enemys. Thank you!

(1 edit) (+1)

Thanks Evm, this sounds similar to the other reports. I haven't been able to replicate the issue on my end yet, but I'm looking.

(1 edit)

Hmm, well I had it happen while I was multi-tasking. The first time it happen is when I clicked off to a different screen. I figure it was a bug but the 2nd time it happen was the same occurance. If I can replicate it Ill let you know ASAP

Im trying to pay for the game but the paypal page keeps glitching and coming up blank. If I install now, is their a way I can pay for it later?

(+1)

No need to pay Evm, but I'm grateful for your support. The biggest help at the moment is playtesting, suggestions, and bug reports.

(1 edit)

i got a bug for you to fix Mr. dev!!

so then i click on the portal i get a enemy like i am supposed to get but then i dont anything else to fight

*edit* i checked back and i am at the edge of the map

Thank you for the response!

A few questions:

1. Is the main issue that your team keeps running and no new enemies appear?

2. Do you remember what the portal looked like? (If I can determine where the portal leads I can see if it's specific to a world)

3. Do you remember where you were when you clicked the portal (Sanctum (The home area) or in another world?

4. Do you remember how many members were in your party before clicking the portal?

Thanks.

same issue any number of people if they survive and the very first portal going into the world gen i get mobs till sacrifice option then nothing

not bad only level one works atm it wont progress past the fire and sacrifice

Hello,

Thank you for the response.

In order to better identify and solve the issue can you provide some more details?

The fire and sacrifice is a random encounter. It isn't guaranteed or specific to any world level.

Are you stating that anytime you encounter a fire and attempt to sacrifice one of your allies that it stops working?

If so, can you specify how many allies you have at the time of sacrifice? (e.g. Are you left with no allies when the sacrifice completes?)

Thanks.

Either or after encountering it no more mobs will show up and maybe turn the chances down everytime after 2-3 mobs it appears

and no most times i try to skip it and once i used it leaving 2 heroes but its a common issue that no monster appear after a very short bit

Thank you for the info, I've made some changes, please let me know if this continues to be a problem for you as I have not been able to recreate the problem on my end.
